Enjoy fantastic food and drink while connecting with fellow IT professionals.

Start Me Up: Monday, November 2 from 6:15pm to 7:45pm                                 FREE for all

ICE 2009 is delighted to partner with community IT organizers to present Start Me Up. Local start up companies will be sharing their latest innovations, but they've got to do it quick! Presenters have ten minutes to show their stuff (no boring presentations allowed- it's about showing, not telling) and a further five to entertain questions from the audience. Following the presentation, attendees are welcome to join in the ICE Cap reception (cash bar and complimentary snacks are available). This is a great chance for the Edmonton tech community to get together, see what cool things others are working on and connect with interesting people.

Monday Night Special: Jeremy Gutsche on Exploiting Chaos, ICE Cap Reception and Start Me Up: Monday, November 2, 4:15 to 9:30pm               $35.00 special for those not attending the conference

Innovation expert Jeremy Gutsche, founder of trendhunter.com, kicks off Monday's night porgram at ICE 2009 with his ideas on exploiting chaos and unleashing innovation in changing times. Called the go to guy for what's next (The Globe and Mail), Gutsche makes it his business to know what's hot before anyone else. Sourced by everyone from MTV to The Financial Times, Gutsche explains how micro-tends and viral innovations surround us, but it becomes difficult to focus once you layer on customers, competitors and corporate strategies. He'll help us make sense of all the noise. Whether you're an entrepreneur, analyst, programmer, bureaucrat or marketer, your goal involves creating something that connects with other human beings. In pursuit of this, though, your creativity is probably hindered by organizational structure, uncertainty and unexploited opportunities. In this provocative presentation, Gutsche moves beyond traditional strategy to talk about cutting edge frameworks and powerful ideas that will empower your organization to exploit chaos.

Following Jeremy Gutsche's keynote presentation, join us a at the ICE Cap reception. Mingle with other IT professionals and sample excellent food and drink. Then head into Start Me Up and get inspired further by local innovators sharing their latest ideas.
